Do you have an interest in people, music or radio? If you are over 16 years old then we'd love to hear from you!

We require volunteers from all walks of life who can spare a few hours a week. You don't have to be technically minded but you do need enthusiasm and the desire to help make a difference.
It's not just about presenting shows and playing music though. Speaking with patients and helping with fund raising is an important part of being a member of Sunshine Radio. (Oh, and if you are technically minded then we are looking for help with studio engineering!)

Radio

Discover the exciting world of live broadcasting and learn the skills necessary to successfully take to the airwaves. Whether you're interested in being in front of the microphone and connecting with an audience or if you prefer to work behind the scenes, we offer opportunities to gain valuable expertise in producing a polished show.

Additionally, we are seeking skilled technical engineers who can help bring our broadcasts to life with their behind-the-scenes contributions.

Patients

Take the time to visit the different wards and gather song requests from the patients. This thoughtful and simple gesture has the remarkable ability to bring a ray of sunshine into their day, significantly lifting their spirits.

By engaging with the patients in this way, you help foster a more joyful and uplifting atmosphere throughout their stay, making their experience a little brighter during what may be a challenging time.

Charity

Your involvement can take many forms, from joining our committee, or organising and participating in fundraising initiatives, to actively promoting our service —every contribution makes a difference.

Fundraising

To provide our service to the patients we are responsible for raising the running costs. We receive no regular contributions from the NHS or other government sources.
There are certain obligatory costs such as insurance, broadcasting licenses, the maintenance and repair of the broadcast equipment, and periodically larger donations are needed for studio refurbishment.

We also need to keep our music library updated so that we can play as many requests as possible.

There are many ways in which you can help. You may wish to make a financial donation or provide a prize for a competition/draw.
If you run a business you could sponsor a show in our broadcast schedule. (See below).
You could even choose Sunshine Radio as the beneficiary of fundraising event such as sponsored run or a skydive using 'Just Giving' .
